Location & Production
Production and development take place at the Ludwigsstadt site in Bavaria, where the laboratory, manufacturing and administration are all based in one location.
This close integration enables efficient processes, short decision-making paths and consistently high product quality – from development through to production.
The company’s in-house laboratory develops over 100 new formulations every year, supported by testing procedures, documentation and ongoing quality control.

Experience that has shaped the location and the company
Schmitt Cosmetics has been developing and manufacturing skincare products since 1925. What began as a chemical and cosmetics factory in Leipzig has evolved into a modern contract manufacturer that combines development, production and quality assurance.
Following German reunification, the company was rebuilt at its current site in Ludwigsstadt. With its integration into BRAIN AG and its current affiliation with La Cultra Verde Ltd., the company’s development has continued apace and taken on an international focus.
Today, the company is synonymous with experience, technical expertise and a clear focus on marketable cosmetic products.

Founded in Leipzig
Founded by Ludwig A. Schmitt as a chemical and cosmetics factory specialising in skincare products.
1953
A fresh start in Ludwigsstadt
Relocation of the company to Ludwigsstadt and expansion of the site in Upper Franconia.
