Cosmetic products must be clearly and fully labelled in accordance with Article 19 of the EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009. Mandatory information includes, in particular:

• Name and address of the responsible person (including country of origin for imported goods, where applicable)
• Net content (weight or volume)
• Best-before date or, alternatively, the shelf life after opening (PAO symbol)
• Special precautions and warnings, where required
• Batch or lot number for traceability
• Intended use, if not self-explanatory
• List of ingredients (INCI), including fragrance allergens subject to labelling requirements and, where applicable, nanomaterials

The information must be clearly legible, permanent and provided in the relevant national language; some details may be included on a package leaflet if space is limited.
